ELECTED NEW DIRECTOR OF THE AGRICULTURAL INSTITUTE OSIJEK
Dr. sc. Zvonimir Zdunić was elected as the new Director of the Agricultural Institute Osijek, decision of the Governing Council of the Institute of 10.08.2009. year. The duty of the director enters the 01.10.2009. year to a term of four years.
Dr. sc. Zvonimir Zdunić was born on 15/03/1970. in Osijek, where he finished elementary school and high school mathematical (gymnasium). In 1994. graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture Osijek with the average grade of 4.64 studies. Completed postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb, where he earned a Masters 1998th and Ph.D. 2001th,with the average grade of the post-graduate studies 5,0. Postdoctoral specialization in the field of corn breeding and genetics performed in 2003. in the United States at Iowa State University, Department of Agronomy.
As the best student in the Faculty of Agriculture Osijek was awarded the Chancellor's Award for 1994. year. As an excellent student and won the scholarship of the Ministry of Science and Technology (for school year 1993-94.) That grants the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports (for the 1992-93 school year.).
Dr. sc. Zvonimir Zdunić employed at the Agricultural Institute Osijek 01.03.1995. at the Department for Breeding and Genetics of Maize. He worked on the program of the Ministry of Science and Technology "Breeding of agricultural crops in Slavonia" and the theme "Creating a population of maize lines and hybrids". Since 2002. to 2006. he was a collaborator on the project "Creating and improving populations, lines and hybrids of maize." He traveled all elections in the scientific and professional positions, always with a significantly larger number of points required, and the 2008th was elected to the senior scientist, and 2009. the academic title of assistant professor.
Dr. sc. Zvonimir Zdunić the head of the research project "Identification megaokolina in maize breeding, the decision of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport from 02 January 2007. Year. While working at the Institute participated in several scientific conferences in the country and abroad (Finland, Hungary, Greece, Netherlands, Romania, Turkey, etc.).
He has published at least 12 scientific papers from groups A1, 14 scientific papers in the group A2, 3 scientific papers in the group A3, 5 scientific papers in national and international journals that are indexed in groups A1, A2, A3, 14 scientific papers in conference proceedings with local scientific conferences and 5 abstracts that were published in the proceedings of abstracts from international conferences. In breeding programs, and genetics of maize created as a co-author of more than 20 commercial maize hybrids registered in the country and abroad.
From 01.04.2006. he was the Assistant Director for International Trade, where he made a series of commercially successful business cooperation with the European Union (Hungary, Belgium, Slovakia, Slovenia), countries of the region (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia) and the Asian countries (Turkey, Iran, Kazakhstan).
Dr. sc. Zvonimir Zdunić is the youngest and only fourth director of the Agricultural Institute Osijek since II. World War.
He is married with one child.
