Poziv za objavu u posebnom izdanju časopisa Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany

Dr. Antonela Markulj Kulundžić and Dr. Marija Viljevac Vuletić are Guest Editors of a Special Issue of the scientific journal Phyton – International Journal of Experimental Botany (ISSN 1851-5657, Impact Factor: 1.2; CiteScore: 2.5), titled: “Abiotic Stresses and Plant Defences in Climate Change”

Dear colleagues,

In the context of increasingly evident climate change, particularly in Europe, which is warming at twice the global average, agriculture and forestry are facing serious challenges, including reduced yields, extreme weather events, biodiversity loss, and soil degradation.

This Special Issue is dedicated to research focused on the impact of abiotic stress on plants and the investigation of plant defence mechanisms, aiming to develop more tolerant genotypes and sustainable adaptation strategies in agriculture.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

– Oxidative stress and antioxidant responses in plants

– Genotypes tolerant to drought, heat, salinity, and other stressors

– Innovative methodologies (e.g., remote sensing, precision agriculture, bioinformatics)

– Agronomic practices for stress mitigation (e.g., growth regulators, soil amendments)

– Integration of ecological, physiological, and technological approaches

Manuscript submission deadline: February 28, 2026
