The Scientific Council of the Institute is its expert body.

The Statute of the Agricultural Institute Osijek (2023) and the Statute on Amendments to the Statute of the Agricultural Institute Osijek (2025) define the powers of the Scientific Council, including the number and composition of its members; the procedure for electing employee representatives in scientific and associate positions; the duration of members’ mandates; the election, eligibility criteria, and term of the President of the Scientific Council; the convening of sessions and decision-making processes; and the election of members of the Scientific Board.

The Scientific Council also adopts its Rules of Procedure, which govern its working methods and decision-making processes, define the rights and responsibilities of its members, establish procedures for the dismissal of members, and regulate other matters essential to the functioning of the Council.
