INTERREG project NET4DINAR: Workshop AI solution for digitalized Ag research – 19th December 2025.

The main objective of the NET4DINAR project is to modernize and digitalize scientific methods in agriculture, with special emphasis on wheat breeding as one of the strategic crops in Pannonian Basin.

 

At the Agricultural Institute Osijek, on 10th December 2025, final workshop was held which gathered more than 40 scientists, researchers and experts from Croatia and Serbia. This event was the opportunity to present project results, exchange ideas and discuss about the future of digital agriculture and wheat breeding having in mind the impact od climate changes and possible modes of future cooperation.

Through collaborative work from three institutions (AIO, IFVCNS and Biosense Institute Novi Sad) different models were developed for early yield prediction as a model triats that will be useful for research studies on other traits as well. Likewise, during the workshop it was clearly demonstrated that, as one of the porject objectives, partners strengthen their research and innovation capacities for wheat breeding and application of state-of the art of the digital tools and technologies in their research acitivities thus contributing to a greener economy and adjustment of the agriculture to climate changes.

Training session for winter wheat phenotyping using UAV and LITERAL in Avignon, France 3rd December – 4th December 2024 – 12th December 2024.

Members of the NET4DINAR project, Vladimir Aćin and Marko Ivić, participated in a training session on December 3–4, 2024, in Avignon, France, hosted by Hiphen. The main objective of training was to obtain skills in using new methods for high-throughput fast phenotyping. These methods are trial imaging with UAVs and LITERAL to acquire RGB and multispectral images from which we monitor crop growth, measure vegetation indices and plant density and even evaluate percent of leaf disease. The training provided valuable insights into advanced technologies for precision agriculture. Training was led by Adrien Vielix for UAV and Rafael Benicio for LITERAL

Planting in pots for rain-shelter – 21st November 2024.

Selected wheat germplasm was planted in pots for later growing and testing for drought in rain-shelter in Osijek.

The first kick-off meeting of the members of the NET4DINAR project team accompanied by Mr. Toni Žufić from the UŽRI agency was held in Osijek on 23rd September 2024. – 23rd September 2024.

We have introduced ourselves with the on-going project activities and discussed about the details relevant for future activities and reporting. During the meeting, the team members roles and responsibilities were clarified, and project scope, timelines, milestones and key deliverables were overviewed. In addition, some financial reporting technicalities were explained.
