The Committee for the Allocation of State Science Awards, appointed by the Decision of the Croatian Parliament, at its 5th session held on December 23, 2024, made the Decision on the awarding of State Science Awards. The State Science Award in the category Annual Award for the Young Researchers/Scientists for biotechnical sciences was awarded to our young scientist, Katarina Šunić Budimir, MSc.
State Science Awards are awarded by the Republic of Croatia for significant achievements in scientific research, for the expansion of scientific knowledge, and for scientific achievements in the applying the results of scientific research achieved by scientists, researchers, and young scientists. The Law on Croatian State Science Awards provides the awarding of four types of State Science Awards. In addition to the Annual Award for Young Researchers/Scientists, there are the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Annual Science Award, and the Annual Award for the Popularization and Promotion of Science.
In total, 29 State Science Awards for 2023 have been awarded.
